Did you know what we see helps us interpret what we hear?
That’s why we put so much thought into FSorb’s color palette. When sound panels help a room look good and sound good, they do even more to improve our experience in the space.
Our Sense of Sight and Hearing Work Together
Recent studies about human senses explain why sound panels work better when they blend into their visual environment. In short, our senses work together to shape how we perceive the world. As our senses intertwine, they enhance each other’s power.
Because of this sensory overlap, sound panels that shape our aural and our visual perceptions can create calmer spaces. These are the kinds of places visitors want to visit and then revisit, often without knowing why the space attracts them.
Research like this helped inspire FSorb’s wide array of design choices, including our extensive color palette.
24 Premium Colors, Carefully Selected

FSorb’s color palette offers multiple ways for designers to fulfill their vision for a new or redesigned space — while also achieving the best sound absorption for the space, of course.
Whether they’re designing a large auditorium, medical waiting room, athletic training facility, retail center, restaurant, or small office, designers should retain control over the way visitors see the space.
We help by offering a complete set of visual tools for designers to choose from, sound panels that keep the designer in control of the visual colors and textures while our panels, simultaneously, shape the room’s tonal colors and textures.
Designers often find that at least one of our 24 premium colors fits well within their vision, but if they require a more specialized color, we can deliver any custom color.
Nature-Inspired Color Choices

How did we decide on our 24 premium colors? Naturally, we needed to provide variety for designers, but anyone — including artificial intelligence — can line up a variety of 24 distinct colors. We wanted to dig deeper to provide colors designers were more likely to find useful. Ideally, we wanted designers to find more than one ideal choice in our premium line.
For guidance, we looked to nature, where colors have blended into their surroundings for millions of years. For example, our greens can be found in different varieties of moss. Rock formations, clouds, sunflowers, chestnut trees, minerals — these naturally occurring colors inspired our choices.
People feel more at ease when surrounded by nature.
Textures Enhance Spaces, Too
FSorb also offers textured panels that fit many interior and exterior designs.
For example, our wood grain panels have grown more popular over the past several years. Rather than repeating the same pattern, each panel’s wood grain is unique, much like it would appear in nature.
Some designers like to apply their own unique geometric patterns to panels to enhance other aspects of their design plan. We can make this happen.
Other Art Can Be Included, Too

Along with customized colors and textures, FSorb panels can display other kinds of art, such as company logos, solid stripes, or even photographs. Designers who want to use sound panels to tie multiple sections of a room together often use this option.
Like custom colors, adding custom art to an order will add some extra time for manufacturing and delivery. Designers can reach out to us to start this process.
From the Inside Out, the Quality of FSorb Shines
Appearance matters, but with sound panels, what you can’t see also affects the panel’s appearance and performance. Along with their surface attributes, FSorb panels fit visual spaces because:
FSorb Can be Cut into Shapes
What do you see when you cut into a brick or a high-quality 2x4? You’ll see more brick and more 2x4. FSorb panels are similarly solid and simple. The durable plastic you see on the outside of a panel matches what’s on the inside.
Traditional sound panels can’t be cut without undermining their internal structure, but because FSorb panels are solid, they can be cut into any shape or size to meet the designer’s plans for a space. Some designers like to soften corners or achieve a more serene, wavy aesthetic, for example.
FSorb Panels Can be Combined

Designers can also combine FSorb panels into patterns or into three-dimensional clusters. In fact, FSorb’s founder, Doug Bixel, has patented hardware that makes combining panels a literal snap for installers. Clustering panels creates visually distinct features that can absorb more sound than a standard wall or ceiling installation.
Arranging FSorb panels into patterns can also take a design to the next level, both visually and aurally. Our Tairu systems offer 19 standard shapes and the ability to order customized shapes for a pattern. Designers can also mix and match colors within an FSorb Tairu or Serenicloud system. Serenicloud tiles also offer scored patterns within each tile in the cloud, creating yet another design choice.
FSorb is Easy to Install
Our standard panels arrive on a job site in 4-foot-by-8-foot sheets, a material size contractors know well. Other panels, such as the Silentline Baffles and Quietgrid Clouds, arrive in the size and shape you’ve chosen. Then, because they’re solid and easy to cut, FSorb panels fit seamlessly with building standards. (They also adhere to local building codes.)
For instance, an FSorb panel can be attached to a wall from any anchor point, not from points predetermined by the panel’s internal structure. This feature, alone, can trim hours from an installation.
This type of installation ease helps contractors and other building pros retain the designer’s initial plan for the appearance of the space.
FSorb is Durable
We make FSorb panels from durable, recycled plastic fibers, using heat to bind different types of fibers together. This process eliminates the need for staples, finishing nails, glues, or other chemical bonds.
FSorb is one material — not a combination of materials assembled together — so as time passes FSorb’s appearance won’t change as the combination of materials shifts. This also allows FSorb panels to hold their color remarkably well. Exposure to direct sunlight, of course, will eventually fade a panel’s color, but with FSorb:
Staples can’t come loose because there are no staples.
Fabric won’t droop in discolor in the changing humidity of a space because there’s no surface fabric covering.
Wooden substructures won’t swell because there’s no substructure needed.
FSorb is Easy to Maintain
The same qualities that make FSorb so durable also make our panels easy to keep clean and maintain. Most of the time, regular dusting keeps Fsorb panels looking clean and bright. If needed, cleaners can apply a damp cloth to remove dust buildup.
If and when panels must be removed and reinstalled, Fsorb’s durability simplifies this process.
Our True Colors Shine Through our Customer Care
FSorb founder Doug Bixel was a career builder before he launched FSorb in 2009. As a builder, Doug knew the importance of sticking to building schedules. He wanted FSorb to respect builders’ schedules by simplifying the ordering process for FSorb panels.
That’s one reason we set up FSorb’s national network of suppliers and consultants. From these local distribution centers, we can provide fast shipping to job sites around the nation when customers order panels from our premium lineup of 24 colors. Custom colors require extra time to fill, but your FSorb Rep can help the order stay on track.
When you need sound absorption panels that offer the best NRC ratings while also accentuating the visual design of the room, contact FSorb. We’d love to discuss your project and show the many ways FSorb shines.
